On December 18, 2025, at the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Plenary in Jerusalem, the organization's Member Countries unanimously approved France's bid for the IHRA presidency beginning in 2027. France will succeed Argentina in the position.

Outcome of the UN Environment Assembly’s seventh session (12.12.25)

Council of Europe - Signing of an international convention to obtain reparations for Ukraine (16.12.25)

On December 16 in the Hague, France, along with 34 other signatories, signed a Council of Europe convention establishing an International Claims Commission for Ukraine.
By signing this convention, France is sending a clear message: Russia must be held accountable and pay for the damages caused by its illegal, unjustified war of aggression. Under international law, Russia is fully responsible for the entirety of the damages, loss and injury resulting from this aggression.

Statement - Entry of the United Kingdom into the Defence Export Control Agreement (16.12.25)

Sudan – Attack on United Nations Interim Force for Abyei (December 15, 2025)

France condemns in the strongest possible terms the December 13th drone attack on the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) in Kadugli, which claimed the lives of six Bangladeshi peacekeepers and left eight wounded.

Syria – Terrorist attack on U.S. personnel (December 15, 2025)

Belarus – Prisoner release (December 15, 2025)

France welcomes the release of 123 prisoners in Belarus, including several political prisoners – among them Maria Kolesnikova, Viktar Babaryka and Nobel Peace Laureate Ales Bialiatski – as well as individuals of other nationalities, thanks to U.S. mediation.
